TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF INTERNSHIP AT VICTOR MOSES AND CO.
1. Monthly intake capacity of Interns:
For each calendar month, only six Interns shall be selected.
2. Application Process:
a. For individual candidates:-
Applicants must submit their applications through our Firm’s designated “Careers” portal, as displayed on our website. Upon receipt of such application in the said manner prescribed, our Internship Committee shall provide electronic link via e-mail to the shortlisted candidates, which shall redirect them to a virtual interview to be convened by our Internship Committee, which the shortlisted candidates shall be required to attend for the purpose of eligibility-assessment, evaluation and further screening.
b. For internship and placement cells of Universities/Colleges:-
The concerned Universities/Colleges must submit the Curriculum Vitae/ Résumés of the eligible applicants via e-mail to “career.victormoses@gmail.com.” Accordingly, our Internship Committee shall provide electronic link via e-mail to the shortlisted candidates, which shall redirect them to a virtual interview as described above for the purpose of eligibility-assessment and evaluation. We shall, in any event, select at the highest two Interns from each concerned University/College at a time, pursuant to their performance in the said virtual interview. With regard to the selection of Interns, we exercise our sole and exclusive discretion.
3. Duration of Internship:
Unless directed or confirmed otherwise by our Internship Committee in due consultation with the supervising Partner, the internship programme of the selected Interns shall begin on the first business day of the month and shall end on the last business day of the same month.
4. Duties and Responsibilities of Interns:
In the course of the Internship programme, the Interns shall be assigned tasks and responsibilities that align with their legal education, skills, and our Firm’s requirements. The nature of such assigned tasks may include legal research, drafting of legal documents, attending court proceedings, assisting in client meetings, and other tasks as may be deemed fit and proper by our supervising Partner.
5. Confidentiality:
The prospective Interns hereby fully understand, agree, and solemnly swear that they shall observe and maintain strict and inviolable Confidentiality with regard to all information (whether privileged or otherwise), documents, legal strategies, and discussions that they may come across in the course of their Internship with us, and this strict obligation towards maintenance of Confidentiality shall survive and extend beyond the duration of the Internship.
6. Professional Conduct:
The Interns shall conduct themselves in a responsible and professional manner at all times during the term of the Internship, and shall demonstrate respectfulness, politesse, integrity, and ethical behavior. They shall comply with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, internal protocol, and professional standards. The Interns shall always, during the term of the Internship, maintain the prescribed dress code/attire comprising a formal white-shirt and formal black-trousers. In case of female Interns, formal white “kurtis” may be permissible.
7. Work Schedule:
The Interns shall adhere to our regular office hours i.e., Monday through Friday, 10:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., but they may be required to come on other days if the supervising partner so requests. They are expected to be punctual and notify the supervising partner as well as the front desk in advance of any absences or delays. In the event of any medical leave, the Intern must exhibit his/her medical certificate to the Internship Committee/ the Supervising Partner.
8. Pay-offs and Benefits:
Unless otherwise specified, the internship is unpaid. The Interns will not be entitled to any remuneration, benefits, or allowances during the internship period. It would in no way indicate a future employment opportunity with us.
9. Intellectual Property:
Any work product, including research papers, memos, or other documents created by the Interns during the internship, shall be the property of the Firm. The Interns agree not to use or disclose such work products for their own personal, educational, or professional purposes in their individual capacities without our consent.
10. Termination:
We reserve the right to terminate the internship at any time, with or without cause. Similarly, the Interns may voluntarily discontinue their internship by providing reasonable notice us through the supervising Partner and the Internship Committee. If the intern remains absent for more than 7 days in a month, his/her internship shall be terminated, and the certificate of internship will be withheld.
Upon termination or discontinuation, whichever the case may be, the Interns shall return all Firm’s property, if any, in their possession.
11. Health and Safety:
We make reasonable efforts to provide a safe and healthy work environment. The Interns are expected to comply with all health and safety policies, protocols, and procedures and promptly report all incidents that may compromise the work environment to the Internship Committee.
12. Amendment:
These terms and conditions may be amended at any time at our discretion. Any amendments will be communicated to the Interns in writing.
